Downtown Dubuque Riverfront
We also spent a day in Galena, IL.
Galena is a cute historic town just over the border between IA and IL.We bobbed & weaved (literally) our way down to Dubuque via the Great River Road. The route was beautiful as we headed through bluffs and hills. It was nice to have a get-away from the busyness of the cities.
A short stop at the Effigy Mounds Nat'l Monument (Old Indian burial mounds). Notice the "hills" behind me?
